During the UAE National Day holidays, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, and Fujairah authorities declared a 50% discount on most traffic fines, accompanied by a waiver of black points and vehicle confiscation charges.

So, how can you get a 50% discount on traffic fines in Sharjah, Ajman, RAK, UAQ, and Fujairah? Let’s find out:

Sharjah

Sharjah Police have declared a 50% concession on traffic fines motorists have accumulated before December 1, 2020. Those who will avail the rebate will also enjoy cancellation of fines on vehicle seizure, and black points. The scheme is valid from December 2 to January 20, 2021. Please note the rebate is not available for serious offences.

How can you pay?

  • Open the Sharjah Police website, or download the Ministry of Interior app, accessible for Apple and Android devices.
  • You can also do it on ‘Sahl’ payment kiosks, situated in shopping malls and public areas.

To query the Sharjah police database to inquire about your traffic fines, you need Traffic Code or T.C. No. You can find it on the back of your UAE driving licence or your vehicle plate number.

Once the system shows you the fines against you, you can pay the due charges through credit or debit card.

The discount will include fines accumulated for offences committed before December 1. However, it does not include serious offences.

Umm Al Quwain

The Umm Al Quwain police have also offered a 50% discount on traffic fines and deletion of black points. The discount scheme is valid from December 2 till January 2, 2021, and can be availed on all fines committed before December 2. The rebate will not be available on serious violations.

Visit the Ministry of Interior website or use the Ministry of Interior app, accessible for Apple and Android devices.

Give your Traffic Code or T.C. No. to ask about your traffic fines. You can find the traffic code on the back of your driving licence. Pay the fine through your credit or debit card.

Ajman

The Ajman Police are also providing 50% rebate, elimination of black points, and waiver in the vehicle confiscation fines on specific violations committed before November 23. The discount is not available on the following offences.

  • “Driving a vehicle in a way that endangers the driver’s life or the life of others or their safety.”
  • “Making changes in the vehicle’s engine or base (chassis) without a licence.”
  • “Any violations related to COVID-19 realted precautions, as issued by the UAE’s Attorney General.”

How can I pay the fines?

You can pay the traffic fines at the Ministry of Interior app, at the Ministry of Interior website, via self-service kiosks at Ajman Police stations or at Service Centres. You can pay the fine online through your debit or credit card.

The concession is available from December 2, 2020.

Fujairah

The Fujairah Police have announced the same concessions as other emirates did. The rebate will be available on certain traffic fines incurred before December 1.

Similar to other Emirates, you can pay a fine via the Ministry of Interior app, at the Ministry of Interior website, at Drivers Licensing Service Centres, or at Self-service Kiosks.

You need to provide your traffic code to inquire about your fine and pay it through your credit or debit card.

The concession is valid from December 2 until January 15.
