Cadillac’s first electric vehicle, the Lyriq, is finally out after a long teaser campaign, following a futuristic concept with the same name. Although Cadillac is late to join the party, at least what we see is worth the wait.
Featuring the GM’s new modular electric platform and Ultium long-range batteries, the Lyriq makes for the General Motors most sleek and advanced electric vehicle. The 100-kilowatt-hour setup is capable of delivering 483 km (300 miles) of range with level 2 charging rates of up to 19 kilowatts. Owners can use DC fast-charging of over 150 kilowatts.
The all-new Cadillac Lyriq will be available in two drive configurations i.e. a standard rear-wheel-drive and a perky all-wheel-drive. While the performance figures aren’t revealed yet, we believe they will be handsome offering smooth drive thanks to intelligent positioning of the batteries and almost 50/50 weight distribution.

In terms of design, the Cadillac Lyriq is futuristic bosting distinct “grille” with stylish lighting elements, several vents in the bumper, and extremely thin vertical headlights. The taillights at the back look pretty exciting but they could be different in the production model. The company says the pictured crossover was an 85% completed prototype.
Peek inside and we see a surprisingly big infotainment screen. It is a 33.0-inch-diagonal LED display that starts from behind the steering wheel and stretches to the mid of the dashboard. The large display is obviously home to all the informational and functional settings.
That’s it for now! Stay tuned for more details on the new Cadillac Lyriq EV.
