Genesis unveils a fresh SUV—or at least, a prospect of one. Meet the Neolun, debuting at the latest New York Auto Show. Drawing inspiration from “Korea’s iconic moon-shaped porcelain jars,” according to Genesis Chief Creative Officer Luc Donckerwolke, the Neolun concept sports a distinct boxy design featuring Genesis’s signature “two lines” lighting theme front and rear.
Clad in a Midnight Black and Majestic Blue dual-tone exterior, the interior boasts sumptuous Royal Indigo leather accented with white piping. Two rows of opulent seats swivel towards each other, evoking the cozy ambiance of a living room. And speaking of coziness—the concept’s floor is heated, not just the seats, but the entire floor.
The Neolun boasts an exceptional audio setup featuring an advanced “sound architecture” for a concert hall-like immersion, complete with a rotating crystal sphere in the front compartment akin to the GV60.
Previewing a spacious SUV, the Genesis Neolun concept currently features two rows of seats, but a forthcoming GV90 production model is expected to include at least a third row. Similar to the approach taken with the Mercedes-Maybach GLS, Genesis might offer two variants of the GV90: one emphasizing luxury with additional rows and another sticking to a conventional three-row setup.
Specifics such as performance, powertrain, and pricing are still undisclosed, but more information regarding the production version of this concept is anticipated by year-end.
