Jeep unveils new info about its upcoming electric SUV. On Tuesday, the company revealed the first official images of the electric SUV, named Wagoneer S. Get ready for a plethora of digital displays and touch controls. There are four screens on the dash, as seen in interior photos from Jeep. The driver display screen, instead of showing speed, displays a navigation route near Detroit. In the center, there’s an infotainment screen for passenger entertainment, oddly showing old-school level meters while playing Nick Mulvey’s Moment of Surrender. Touch settings for heated seats are also visible on the center screen.
On the lower display, there’s a focus on comfort features like seat massage and defrost settings, alongside climate controls. It seems there might be additional physical controls elsewhere, given the option to turn the screen off. Overall, the operation of the electric Wagoneer’s systems appears to rely heavily on touch input, even extending to the passenger display for entertainment purposes.
At this stage, there’s a lot to speculate about since Jeep hasn’t given any solid information alongside the new images. However, a few details are clear. A 19-speaker McIntosh sound setup will feature in the “tech-focused interior,” along with a standard dual-pane panoramic moonroof. Jeep assures us of a dedicated Selec-Terrain system offering various drive modes.
What might really catch the eye of potential buyers is the 600-horsepower propulsion system. A recent teaser from Jeep hinted at a 0-60 mph time of around 3.5 seconds, putting it squarely among the fastest SUVs globally. While specifics of the powertrain remain a mystery, it’s confirmed to utilize the STLA Large platform with standard 4xe-branded all-wheel drive.
The Jeep Wagoneer S is slated for a fall release. More details are expected to emerge by then. Source and Images: Motor1
