Toyota has spruced up the appearance and offroad capabilities of its 2024 full-size Tundra and Sequoia models. A fresh Nightshade Package introduces black elements for the Limited trim, while the Platnum version offers the choice of a TRD Off-Road Package. Additionally, buyers can select a three-inch suspension lift as a pre-installed option.
The Nightshade Package, recognized across Toyota’s lineup, bestows the Tundra and Sequoia with black touches on the 20-inch wheels, over fenders, grille, mirrors, and badges. Restricted to the Limited trim, this package presents color options such as Ice Cap, Wind Chill Pearl, Magnetic Gray Metallic, Midnight Black Metallic, Celestial Silver Metallic, Supersonic Red, Lunar Rock, and Blueprint.
In tandem with the visual enhancements, the 2024 Tundra and Sequoia offer a three-inch lift kit as a factory-fitted choice. Furthermore, the Platinum trim can be equipped with the optional TRD Off-Road package, integrating Toyota’s Multi-Terrain Select for wheel spin control, CRAWL Control for low-speed off-road maneuvers, and downhill assist to ease rugged terrain navigation. The TRD package also boasts a locking rear differential and Multi-Terrain Monitor for obstacle visibility.
Upon its 2022 debut, the Tundra showcased two novel twin-turbo V6 powertrains paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The i-FORCE twin-turbocharged V6 generates a standard 389 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. An elective i-FORCE MAX hybrid powertrain elevates output to 437 horsepower and 583 pound-feet of torque, enabling a towing capacity of up to 12,000 pounds. This blend of gas and electric power achieves an estimated 20 miles per gallon in city driving and 24 mpg on highways.
Toyota’s other full-size truck and SUV models retain their existing configurations. Both vehicles are crafted in Toyota’s San Antonio, Texas assembly plant, which received upgrades preceding the latest model launch.
