Bugatti’s deep-pocketed customers can exercise their creativity via the Bugatti Sur Mesure initiative, which promises extensive opportunities for personalization. However, a particular client took this promise to the extreme with the awe-inspiring Bugatti Chiron Super Sport Golden Era vehicle.
Crafted for an undisclosed Bugatti enthusiast who holds a profound admiration for the automaker’s century-long legacy, the Golden Era car was a labor of two years and involved 400 hours dedicated solely to the intricate artwork adorning both flanks of the automobile. The bodywork features meticulously hand-rendered illustrations that designers sketched directly onto the surface using specialized pens. Bugatti affirms that this stands as one of their most formidable custom projects to date – a fact that is undeniably apparent.
“It became evident early on that ensuring genuine authenticity for these sketches (which holds immense significance at Bugatti) relied on the very pens employed for hand-sketching on paper. Any alternative approach would risk producing an outcome of artificiality or diminished caliber,” remarked Achim Anscheidt, the former Director of Design at Bugatti, who supervised the endeavor. “Consequently, we needed to devise a method permitting the utilization of pens to execute all sketches manually, directly onto the surface of the paint.”
On the passenger side, you’ll find 26 distinctive illustrations featuring icons such as the Type 41 Royale and Type 57 SC Atlantic, while the driver’s side showcases 19 drawings chronicling Bugatti’s history from 1987 onward. This encompasses contemporary models like the EB110, Veyron, and Chiron, along with the iconic W16 engine.
Using a dual-gradient paint scheme as a backdrop, these personalized portraits come to life. The front boasts a Nocturne Black hue merging seamlessly with a novel Dore gold pigment, stretching from the A-pillar to the rear.
The intricacy continues within the cabin. Every door panel is meticulously hand-painted with three iconic Bugatti models: the EB110, Veyron, and Chiron on one side, and the Type 35, Type 57 SC Atlantic, and Type 41 Royale on the opposite. Subtle Golden Era stitching graces other areas, accompanied by a handwritten “One-of-One” emblem.
As for the price? Irrelevant – this unparalleled Chiron Super Sport defies replication. Considering the price tags of other unique Bugatti creations, a valuation in the multimillion range is within reason.
