Renault initially introduced the 4Ever Trophy concept during the previous year’s Paris auto exhibition. It served as a tribute to the original Renault 4 while offering a glimpse into the forthcoming revival of the model. Recently, the company unveiled a revised edition of the concept, showcasing a captivating Ile-de-France Blue exterior hue, complemented by vibrant neon highlights.
Renault claims that the design of their latest concept car draws inspiration from the famous tennis balls used in the French Open, coincidentally coinciding with the car’s debut at the prestigious event. While some may find this connection tenuous, we genuinely appreciate the aesthetics of the concept vehicle.
The electric crossover is equipped with specialized tires suitable for various terrains. It features durable panels along its lower half, and there is a spare tire securely fastened to a roof rack. Additionally, off-road essentials such as traction boards and a shovel are attached to the rear windshield, providing assistance in case the vehicle encounters any difficulties during off-road adventures.
The new edition of Île-de-France Blue draws its inspiration from the debut shade of the original Renault 4L, introduced back in 1962. With more than three decades having passed since its production ceased, Renault now intends to revive the beloved vehicle as a compact electric crossover.
As per an article published in Top Gear magazine, Sandeep Bhambra, the head of advanced and concept design at Renault, mentioned that the upcoming concept vehicle bears a striking resemblance to its production counterpart. While it’s unfortunate that the updated 4 won’t be available in the UAE, that doesn’t dampen our enthusiasm for admiring the captivating visuals. Interestingly, despite having a lower numerical designation, the new 4 is expected to be larger in size and higher in price compared to the 5, which will align more closely with the original compact 4 designed for urban environments.
