Car enthusiasts, rejoice! The latest news on the Mercedes-AMG S63 is nothing short of electrifying. As the industry shifts towards hybridization, this powerful super sedan is keeping its brawny V8 engine for at least one more generation. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for its smaller sibling, the C63. This once-mighty machine has been relegated to a mere four-pot, leaving some diehard fans feeling deflated.

Nevertheless, both of these formidable automobiles are now of the plug-in hybrid variety, showcasing the brand’s commitment to sustainability and reducing carbon emissions. But wait, there’s more! The bigger of the two, the S63, is receiving a special version that will only be accessible for a short while as the Edition 1.

Clad in a Manufaktur alpine grey uni coat, this behemoth rides on 21-inch AMG forged wheels adorned with a cross-spoke design. And if that wasn’t enough, the electrified S63 also receives the coveted AMG Exterior Night Package, which includes a sleek dark chrome or high-gloss black finish to the exterior accents. But that’s not all, for this magnificent machine boasts other niceties, including a silver-chrome fuel filler cap with the AMG logo, tinted glass that will add an extra layer of mystery to your ride, and red brake calipers that scream sheer power and intensity. Are you ready to take on the electrified S63?

Mercedes has yet to unveil any visuals of the interior of their latest creation. However, the Edition 1 is slated to showcase pristine black Nappa leather upholstery, with immaculate contrasting red seams that adorn the sporty steering wheel wrapped in a luxurious layer of Nappa leather. A recurring black and red theme is carried throughout the interior, where an exclusive Edition 1 logo is engraved with precision on the central console, alongside an illuminated red AMG logo etched with intricate detail on the door sills.

But that’s not all; Mercedes has upped the ante with an additional offer to sweeten the deal. Along with the premium automobile, they will throw in an indoor car cover, an accessory featuring a breathable outer skin meticulously manufactured from a tear-resistant synthetic fabric, and crowned with an anti-static inner lining of woven flannel, leaving no room for pesky scratches and dust to tarnish the pristine exterior.

The amount you’ll be required to fork over for this automobile in its home market is an exacting €208,392.80. However, the current exchange rates indicate that it’ll set you back a smidge over $228,300. That said, don’t forget that Germany charges a hefty 19 percent VAT. Notably, the commencement of local deliveries is slated for next month.

For customers in Deutschland, an S-Class’s purchasing price can climb even higher if they opt for the V12-fueled Maybach S680 4Matic, which will command a mind-boggling €230,556.55. Meanwhile, across the pond in the United States, the top-of-the-line model is relatively more affordable but far from cheap, at a starting price of $229,000, sans options. The price for the UAE market isn’t available yet.
