The 2023 Peugeot 508 Sedan and SW are bringing the heat with an array of impressive updates to their interior tech and driving capabilities. The centerpiece is a massive 10-inch infotainment system, while the eight-speed automatic transmission boasts a redesigned gear selector for smooth shifting. With driving modes ranging from Eco to Sport and 4WD, and suspension settings including Normal, Sport, and Comfort, there’s something for every driving enthusiast.
The 12-inch fully digital instrument cluster adds a futuristic touch, while the standard features list includes a heated windscreen, electric trunk/tailgate, and even a night vision system. Peugeot has gone all out with high-definition parking cameras, road sign recognition, and active lane departure warning with lane correction. And let’s not forget the 10-speaker Focal sound system, complete with a subwoofer for ultimate audio bliss.
The range is a triumvirate of three-, four-, and even six-cylinder engines. The first in line is the turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder gasoline motor, which delivers 130 horses. But wait, there’s more! The mighty 1.6-liter four-cylinder powerhouse generating a whopping 218 hp is available in the African, Middle Eastern, and Asian markets. If that’s not enough, the 508 also offers a four-cylinder, 1.5-liter turbodiesel variant that produces 130 hp.
This sleek midsize sedan and wagon duo offer not one, not two, but three plug-in hybrid powertrains to choose from. How about a sizzling combo of a 150-hp or 180-hp gasoline engine, matched with an 81-kilowatt electric motor, for a total output of 180-hp and 225-hp, respectively? And if that’s not enough for you, go for the range-topping PSE, which cranks up the power with a 200-hp gasoline engine and not one, but two motors. That’s right, an 81-kW motor paired with the automatic transmission and an 83-kW motor at the rear, delivering a whopping 360 hp to all four wheels!
The three PHEV models sport a 12.4-kWh battery pack, with the option to charge up via a standard 3.7-kW charger or a potent 7.4-kW charger that comes with the top-dog PSE.
These models are all set to hit the market in the summertime.
