Lancia, determined to breathe new life into its iconic brand, sets its sights on revamping the beloved Ypsilon hatchback with cutting-edge technology. A fresh splash of Dew Green now graces the exterior, making the Ypsilon impossible to miss. The Silver model takes style to the next level, with striking black accents adorning the grille, lower bumper, and spoiler.
Step inside the Ypsilon and you’ll be greeted by a sleek blue finish on the dashboard and door panels, perfectly complemented by multi-chrome green accents on the gearshift, steering wheel, and air vent frames.
The seat upholstery, crafted using Seaqual Yarn, is not only stylish but also environmentally conscious, made from recycled plastic collected from the Mediterranean Sea.
The 7.0-inch infotainment display receives an upgrade, now supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Conveniently, a wireless charger has been incorporated at the base of the center console, ensuring your devices stay powered up on the go.
The Ypsilon offers a range of powertrain options, including a fuel-efficient mild-hybrid 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine that packs a punch with 68 horsepower (51 kilowatts) as well as an eco-friendly liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) alternative. In its home country, the Ypsilon is a favorite among car buyers, having claimed the title of the second-best-selling vehicle in Italy in 2022. With a 15.3 percent market share, the hatchback has reached its highest level of popularity yet.
Lancia has set its sights on the future with a 10-year plan, commencing in 2024, to bring the brand to the forefront. Kicking off the plan is a next-generation Ypsilon equipped with a fully electrified powertrain lineup. The company is also secretly working on a new crossover that might bring back the iconic Aurelia name to the market. By 2028, the Delta will make a comeback as a “chiseled and beefy car with geometric lines” that will leave a lasting impression.
As the world swings towards a more sustainable outlook, Lancia is determined to stay ahead of the curve. In 2026, the brand will begin its electrifying journey by introducing a range of electric vehicles. By 2028, Lancia aims to take the leap and become an electric-only brand, paving the way for a greener tomorrow.
Lancia unveiled the Pu+Ra Zero concept late last year, giving a glimpse into the brand’s design future. The concept aims to evoke the classic models of the past, blending soft shapes reminiscent of the Aurelia and Flaminia with angular elements taken from the Stratos and Delta, creating a modern interpretation of Lancia’s iconic heritage.
With aspirations to expand beyond its home country, Lancia has made strategic moves to increase its presence in other markets. As part of its grand plan, the brand has appointed a new brand manager who will take charge of the French, German, Spanish, Belgian, Luxembourg, and Dutch markets with the goal of making Lancia a household name in those regions.
We really hope Lancia will arrive in the Gulf to grace our roads.
