Volkswagen is progressing quickly to electrify its whole lineup but in the U.S., they have a very thin EV range. The only EV from VW in North America is ID.4 crossover while the European countries have the ID.3 hatchback and ID.5 crossover coupe. Chinese customers also benefit from a range of hatchbacks and crossovers. That’s going to change soon as Volkswagen is all set to unveil a new electric car at CES 2023.

What we know so far is that the unveiling will happen on January 3. VW will not reveal the design, masking it in wraps, but the company will tell us the name of the vehicle. So far, we do not have any idea of the vehicle. It will possibly be a production model of the ID. Aero EV sedan concept or a totally new electric SUV, which could stand below or above the ID.4.

What we are aware of is that the EV will be using VW’s MEB platform, the same platform as the ID.4, and the upcoming ID. Buzz van employ. If the new EV is the production model of the ID. Aero concept, VW will venture into the class presently dominated by the Tesla Model 3. This Tesla EV is so popular that carmakers dare to compete in this segment.

Whatever it would be, we just have to wait for three more days to see the new VW EV.
