UK-based leasing comparison firm, LeaseFetcher recently revealed interesting facts about the most anticipated and desired EVs in the world. The company collected stats from Google searches and found that the imminent Tesla Cybertruck and Roadster are the most highly expected EVs around the globe.

LeaseFetcher found the upcoming Tesla Roadster is at the top of most expected EVs in 2022, with an overall search volume of about 7 million. It implies 580,000 searches for the Roadster every month.

The second position is secured by another Tesla, the Cybertruck, with about 6,612,000 queries in 2022.

It is very interesting, especially due to the fact that the 2nd-gen Roadster was first introduced in 2017, and it still did not hit the production lines. The story is almost the same for Cybertruck.

Seeing the list from Lease Fetcher, the newly introduced Volkswagen ID. Buzz and the non-present Apple Car follow.

Speaking specifically about America, the Cybertruck secures the first position as the most expected electric vehicle, followed by the 2nd-gen Roadster, GMC Hummer EV, Cadillac Lyriq, and Apple Car.

Neglecting the forthcoming vehicles, it’s again Tesla that garners the top spot in the most desired electric vehicles list worldwide. The Tesla Model receives the first spot with 25 million searches in 2022, next to the Kia EV6 and Model Y.

The US rankings slightly differ, with the Model 3 and Model Y securing the first two spots in the most wanted electric vehicles list, followed by Ford Mustang Mach-E, which comes at third. The Rivian R1T EV pickup truck gets the ninth spot, followed by the Polestar 2.

Leaving upcoming cars aside, it’s Tesla that tops the most desired EVs worldwide list again, with the Model 3 taking first place at a whopping 25 million searches throughout the year, followed by the Kia EV6 and Tesla Model Y.

If we take into account country-by-country searches, the Model 3 is the most-queried EV in the world, keeping its top spot from the last year.

Check out the complete rankings to get an idea of what people anticipate for the upcoming and current EVs.
