Chevrolet took the stage of GM China Tech Day 2022 in Shanghai to present an EV concept featuring a sleek sedan-styled car named FNR-XE. It is the first sedan created by Chevrolet on the new General Motors Ultium platform. The concept is just the start; Chevy would like to introduce 15 new electric vehicles in China in the next three years.

The launch of the FNR-XE does not just show us a new EV sedan but also gives us a glimpse of Chevy’s future design language. We can see a super sleek design with a raked roofline, brawny hips, huge wheels, and shiny surfacing. It really appears to be an evolution of the Blazer and Equinox EV design. The slim head and taillights and retracting door handles conclude the EV’s smooth design.

Apart from telling us about the Chevy EV’s platform, the automaker didn’t give any more information regarding the concept car. The Chinese journalists believe the production model will hit the roads in 2023. For now, it seems the production model will only stay in China. Created by GM’s PATAC (Pan Asia Technical Automotive Center) in Shanghai, we are not sure if this vehicle will be sold outside the People’s Republic of China.

We truly want Chevy to develop it for the Gulf countries. A smooth, affordable EV sedan is something buyers would love in the UAE. The new evolutionary styling really equips the EV sedan to compete with the Tesla Model 3 and Polestar 2.
