The jury will initiate final voting at the start of next year, and it will give us the winner of the best car of the year. The automotive panel will declare the winner at the 100th Brussels Motorshow on January 13, 2023.

Last year’s winner was the car from Kia. It was the first time any South Korean car won the Car of the Year award, thanks to the EV6’s outstanding construction, handling, and safety. The EV6 achieved 279 points and 12 single best votes after a tight encounter with the Renault Megane E-Tech Electric. The EV6’s cousin, the Hyundai Ioniq 5, achieved the third spot in the list.
The Car of the Year is a global honor decided by senior automotive journalists from across Europe. The best car is just one, and there are no groups, sub-divisions, or classes.
The 2022 Car of Year was decided by 61 members from 23 Europan nations. The account from each nation is equal to the size of the nation’s vehicle market and its significance in automaking. That’s why the organization allows six journalists each from France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, and Spain. Other nations have less participation.
