Maserati has teamed up with Mattel, the creator of the famed doll, to develop a customized Grecale in an attention-grabbing paint of pink. Only two units are planned, and the first will be sold at the Neiman Marcus department store for $330,000. The information about the second customized Grecale will be available next year.
The Grecale sports a pink shade with Acid Yellow accents at different places, such as around the grille, on the hood, and lower section of the rear bumper. A shimmering upper coat gives a rainbow effect. The Maserati trident logo also wears Acid Yellow highlights. The Grecale Barbie Edition has black wheels with multispoke styling and a black finish. The pink is obviously available inside and can be seen in stitching, door panels, and center console.
The Barbie Grecale is built on the Trofeo variant, so it means it gets a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 generating 523 horsepower (390 kilowatts) at 6,500 rpm and 457 pound-feet (620 Newton-meters). This huge power enables the premium crossover to hit 62 miles per hour (100 kilometers per hour) in only 3.8 seconds with a maximum speed of 177 mph (285 kph).
The power goes to all the wheels via an eight-speed ZF-sourced automatic transmission. The limited-slip differential is at the rear axle.
From the total price of $330,000, $33,000 will be reserved for the Barbie Dream Gap Project. It associates with donor organisations to offer equal opportunities for girls.
The Grecale will hit the U.S. roads before the end of this year, wearing an initial price tag of $64,995 (inclusive of destination charge). This price is for the 296-hp (221-kW) GT model while the 325-hp (242-kW) Modena goes for $74,395. The flagship Trofeo will start at $103,995.
