The Hyundai Grandeur, also known as the Azera in some markets, has entered its seventh generation, and boy, it looks Grand and totally different from its predecessor. Hyundai stopped selling it in the U.S. markets in 2017, so it will be forbidden fruit in America.
As customary with Hyundai, they didn’t provide the technical specs of the large sedan, but the images reveal a lot about the new 2023 Grandeur, starting with the brave exterior styling, which resembles the Staria minivan from the front. We can see a Led light bar covering the entire width of the fascia with actual lights positioned lower on the bumper.
The door handles stay flush when not in use, whereas the quarter glass is reminiscent of the genuine Grandeur from 1986. That was actually not a model from the South Korean automaker; instead, a rebadged model of the Mitsubishi Debonair.
The side profile showing long rear doors means that the Grandeur is longer than before with an elongated wheelbase. The previous model stood at 2,885 millimetres (113.6 inches) between the axles with a total length of 4,990 mm (196.5 in).
The organized styling remains the same at the rear as well, with full-width light and a slightly curved trunk cover. To retain the uncluttered appearance, the automaker concealed the exhaust tips below the bumper.
Similar to the exterior styling, the interior design is also a lot different from the previous model. Two screens are visible on the dash together with a third screen fixed lower on the centre console to change different settings. At the back, the rear occupants also have controls to change settings.
In addition, we see ambient lighting in the door cards,
and the seats get eco Nappa leather completed with clean, anti-bacterial leather. Other prominent amenities comprise isolated audio controls, a dual-pane sunroof, and electrically controlled front seats with fascinatingly styled headrests.
Expect more details to be available in the coming weeks before the market launch in the first quarter of 2023.
