Gone are the days when you have to physically visit the customer happiness centre in Dubai to finalize the sale of a vehicle. Dubai Drive App by RTA (Roads and Transports Authority) Dubai provides residents an opportunity to transfer vehicle ownership, sign the sale contract, and finalise the transaction online.
The ‘Change vehicle ownership’ is possible via UAE Pass, which validates your individuality as well as lets you create secure digital signatures to finalise a transaction.
After selling your car, follow the guidelines to complete the transfer.
1. Download the ‘Dubai Drive’ app (Accessible both on iOS and Android).
2. Log in through the UAE Pass account.
3. Go to your dashboard and find details of your vehicles.
4. Click on ‘My vehicles’ and then pick ‘Change Vehicle Ownership’ from the visible options.
5. To use this service, you must have cleared all the fines and pending loans.
6. Next, give the buyer’s Emirates ID
7. The next step is to sign a Sales Purchase Agreement (SPA) after your verification.
8. The UAE Pass will allow you to sign the agreement.
9. Next, the SPA goes to the purchaser, who requires to sign in the agreement.
10. The buyer has to pay the SPA fee, which is around Dh450, as well as the Dh30 knowledge fee.
11. As a seller, you then have 14 days to visit the RTA customer happiness centre for tendering the car’s number plates. It is a mandatory action to finalise the vehicle ownership transfer.
12. Once you hand over the plates, the car purchaser will be notified through Dubai RTA. They can then visit the centre to get the plates and use them for their new vehicle or buy new plates as per their liking.
