Lamborghini unveiled the refreshed Urus last month at Pebble Beach. It was the high-performance Performante variant and now the company has introduced the base model of the famous Super SUV, the Urus S. It means the Urus will now be available in two flavours and both have plenty of things in common to make your drives powerful, luxurious, and comfortable.
Engine and Performance
Starting with the powertrain, the Urus S has the same twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 engine as we find in the Performante and the upgraded mill creates the same engine output as well. Yes, 666 horsepower and 850 Newton-meters (627 pound-feet) of torque are on tap for Lamborghini’s best-selling model.
That said, the Performante is lighter among the two with 47 kg (104 pounds) less weight than the S. More weight means the Urus S is slower in acceleration. The company claims 3.5 seconds for a 100 km/h sprint, which is 0.2 seconds slower than the Performante. However, the maximum speed for both remains the same at 190 mph (305 km/h).
With a claimed run from 0 to 124 mph (200 km/h) in 12.5 seconds, the Urus S is not slow by any means among hot SUVs. It will compete against the upcoming Ferrari Purosangue SUV, Aston Martin DBX, and the Bentley Bentayga Speed.
Design
The refreshed 2023 Lamborghini Urus offers more customization than before starting with the optional matte titanium 22-inch wheels and a diamond bronze 23-inch rim. You may go for a visible carbon fiber roof and matte or shiny black exhaust tips rather than the steel polish of the freshly created exhaust.
Other facilities available for the new Urus are a stainless steel underbody element polished in matte black and a coated carbon fiber hood with matte black air intakes. A few optional decorations can get a similar black finish or carbon fiber in shine or matte. The interior receives new two-tone leather upholsteries and bi-color trim.
While we do not know when Lamborghini will offer a hybrid version of the Urus, we can tell it will happen soon since the company plans to electrify its all models by 2024.
The new Urus S will cost buyers a staggering € 195,538 Euros (without taxes).
