Bentley unveiled the third-generation Flying Spur in 2019 and later brought the Flying Spur Hybrid, the Flying Spur S, and other models. Now the company has launched the Flying Spur Speed, which will be the only variant featuring the automaker’s W12 engine in this sedan. The standard Flying Spur with a W12 mill is no longer in production right now.

Powertrain

The Speed features Bentley’s twin-turbo 6.0-lire W12 pumping out 626 horsepower (467 kilowatts) and 664 pound-feet (900 Newton-meters) of torque. The power goes to the wheels via an eight-speed ZF dual-clutch transmission, enabling the luxury sedan to accelerate to 60 miles per hour (96 kilometers per hour) in 3.7 seconds. The top speed is limited to 207 mph (333 kph).

The torque goes to both axles but varies according to the drive mode. For instance, the Comfort drive mode routes up to 354 lb-ft (480 Nm) of torque to the front axle. The Sport mode sends less torque to the front wheels compared to the front for more agility – 206 lb-ft (280 Nm) for the front and remaining to the rear.

The 2022 Flying Spur Speed slots a notch above the Flying Spur S, and the company claims it the “most driving-focused” model in the lineup.

Exterior

The new Flying Spur Speed appears different due to its distinct 22-inch wheels finished in gloss black, dark tint, or silver. The 22-inch wheels are optional and polished with either gloss black or pale Brodgar satin. Bentley also has given a dark shade to the grille, headlights, badging, and taillights. The brake calipers come in red, while the black-hued ones are accessible as a no-cost option.

If the standard styling doesn’t impress you, or you just want your sedan to look different than others, you can opt for the Styling Spec and Blackline Spec upgrades.

The Styling Spec brings various carbon-fibre components, like a carbon fibre front splitter, side skirts with metallic Bentley emblems, a rear diffuser, and a thin trunk lid spoiler. The Blackline Spec substitutes the bright trims with darker ones.

Interior

The interior is available in fifteen colour combinations. The piano black veneer comes standard, while the Crown Cut Walnut, Dark Stained Burr Walnut, and Dark Fiddleback Eucalyptus are no-cost options. Besides, the new Bentley Flying Spur Speed gets 24-way adjustable front and 14-way adjustable back seats, sports pedals, and so much more.

Bentley believes the Flying Spur Speed will make for one-third of Flying Spur sales in Europe and the US. On the other hand, the company anticipates selling one Flying Spur S of every five it sells in the Middle East.

The pricing details aren’t available yet. However, we can tell that the 2022 Flying Spur starts at 1,150,000 in the UAE.
