Toyota introduced the Sienna 25th Anniversary Edition last Thursday to commemorate the Silver Jubilee of the minivan. It is a limited edition model with specific facilities. Toyota plans to build 2,525 units for the American markets. The special edition will be limited to other parts of the world, as well.
Exterior
The 2023 Toyota Sienna 25th Anniversary Edition is built on the XSE trim level. To make it distinct, Toyota added a more assertive front bumper, eye-catching 20-inch split-five-spoke wheels finished in dim gray, and a bit of black trim for the emblems, mirror caps, and antenna fin. Of course, the minivan also sports an exclusive 25th Anniversary badge in silver and white to announce its identity to the public.
Interior
As we enter inside, we see brightened kick plates and 25th Anniversary floor mats. The anniversary edition comes fitted with the XSE Plus Package. The optional package for other trim levels adds the 12-speaker JBL sound system, navigation, wireless charging, and a 1,500-watt converter.
Besides these, the special Sienna borrows some good features from the Limited. These encompass memory seats, steering column, and mirrors, in addition to the sofas for the Super Long-Slide second-row seats. You can move them ahead and behind a full 25 inches.
In the entertainment department, the 2023 Sienna gets the automaker’s new Audio multimedia system that is accurate, beautiful, and quick to respond to voice instructions.
Safety
Safety is ensured by the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 to give the driver and occupants a sense of security and assistance. The standard amenities included in this suite are automated emergency braking, lane keep assist, road sign assist, auto high beams, and full-range adaptive cruise control.
Powertrain
Toyota continues with the hybrid powertrain for the special edition, as well. Therefore, the sole engine option is a 2.5-litre four-cylinder that employs one or two motors (depending on the drivetrain) to create 245 horsepower combined. The engine pairs with either a front-wheel drive, delivering 36 mpg combined fuel economy as per EPA estimates. The all-wheel-drive model will be less efficient and returns 35 mpg. Depending on your use, you can select either of the two.
Pricing
The Sienna has been a minting machine for Toyota in the minivan segment. The company has sold more than 2.2 million units so far since its introduction in 1998. Last year, it was the best-seller in its segment.
Unfortunately, Toyota failed to mention the price of the 2023 Sienna 25th Anniversary Edition. However, considering the pricing of the other variants (predicted starting price of $37,000), we expect the price to be a little lower than the Limited and higher than the XSE variant. According to C&D, the price will be in the high-$40,000 range.
