Hyundai always comes up with a way to modify the versatile Staria minivan. After introducing the Staria commercial van, school bus, and campers with their own unique features, the South Koran automaker has now revealed the new Staria Lounge Limousine. This derivative is the flagship model in the Staria lineup with more space and height than any other variant in the range.
While it looks similar to any other Staria, the slight difference in the outer design is the pop-up ceiling. This ceiling boosts the height of the minivan by 205 mm (8 inches). Hyundai has managed to free up space for a huge 25-inch screen, which they call the largest any competitor offers in this segment.
The engineers have found a perfect spot for the display featuring USB and HDMI connections, smartphone mirroring, and HD DMB. If you are not aware, the DMB means Digital Multimedia Broadcasting that is capable of broadcasting TV and radio to smartphones in high definition, thus the name DMB HD.
Another highly nifty design like the camper minivan with a pop-up tent, the Staria Lounge Limousine gets an air purifier and “Starry Sky” mood lighting fixed inside the elevated roof. The automaker also added some LED lights in the second and third rows to make the interior more welcoming.
That’s not all! The Korean automaker has also modified the suspension and electric power steering for a comfy ride. Furthermore, the engineers have introduced additional sound-deadening materials to make the cabin quieter.
You can order the Staria Lounge in seven or nine-seat configurations. It comes equipped with a clever center console featuring a table that pops out. You can move the table from the first row all the way to the rear. It includes facilities like a USB Type-C and a cup holder. When you open the sliding door, the side steps parallel to the second row of seats come out electrically.
Besides the taller roof, the posh minivan from Hyundai looks different from its other siblings owing to its two-tone 18-inch alloy wheels unique for this model. The company offers the Staria Lounge Limousine in Abyss Black Pearl or Creamy White shade, both boasting a gray finish for the interior.
Hyundai is asking for 57.92 million won for the nine-seat Lounge Limousine whereas the seven-seater goes for 59.63 million won in its home market. Translating these rates into US dollars, it is between $46,850 and $48,200 at present exchange values, correspondingly.
