What would the supercars of the future look like? If you ask us we would say they should appear as the new Matador MH2 Hydrogen Supercar. The revolutionary supercar concept is on display at the Slovakian Expo Pavilion in Dubai right now where you can marvel at this hydrogen-powered beauty.
It is worth noting that the Matador MH2 is the first hydrogen propelled vehicle from Slovakia, which isn’t only unique in its powertrain but also in its design.
With the world seeking powerplants that are more efficient and environmental-friendly, automakers offer three options for consumers. The first one is the conventional internal combustion engines with or without getting some assistance from electric motors. The second option is the full-electric while the third is the hydrogen-powered vehicles.
Currently, if we check automotive news, we find most of them about hybrids and electric vehicles. The question: are hydrogen-powered vehicles could be the next big fad in the automotive world.
Well, the Matador Group definitely agrees with this idea. The new MH2 concept car is a superb example of its outstanding craftsmanship and engineering. The zero-emission supercar employs a new hydrogen-powered system created by Slovak University TUKE. The company says the MH2 can deliver 600 horsepower (450 Kilowatts) a top speed of 155mph (250 km/h), and a 0 to 60 mph run in 3.9 seconds, without hurting the environment.
Seeing the performance figures, we can say the hydrogen fuel delivers exceptional power and speed. The best part is the powertrain doesn’t require the long charging time we encounter with EVs. In fact, the Matador Group is working on a plan that will allow their supercar customers to refill their vehicle’s gas tank as quickly as they refill fuel in the ICE cars. The hydrogen fuel source could be the best alternative to long charging times as well as eliminate the carbon emissions associated with fuel-powered cars.
Speaking of the Matador Group, it started its operations around 117 years ago as an auto tire supplier. It remained in this business working independently until 2007 and then joined hands with Continental.
With resources to spare, the company decided to venture into the automotive parts business with help from Auffer Design. Now the automotive company has decided to channel its expertise into developing something very special in form of the hydrogen-powered concept.
We do not have any details yet when the vehicle will go into production and what will be its price. Watch the video review from Supercar Blondie if you can’t visit Slovakian Expo Pavilion in Dubai. Stay tuned for updates!
