2022 Kia Sportage Costs $27,205, plus $1,800 for AWD

The 2022 Kia Sportage comes with lots of enhancements and is a bit bigger and more upmarket than the outgoing model. It is Kia’s one of the best-selling vehicles owing to its affordable price tag. The new crossover goes for at least $27,205 (all values here comprise a $1,215 destination fee).

For this price, you can have the base Sportage LX with a front-wheel-drive configuration. Add all-wheel-drive and you have to pay $1,800 extra.

The all-wheel-drive-only Sportage X-Line goes for $32,005, while the front-wheel-drive Sportage SX and SX Prestige cost $32,705 and $34,705, separately. AWD again adds $1,800 to the total. The AWD-only X-Pro and X-Pro Prestige demand $36,205 and $38,005, respectively.

Regardless of whatever model you choose, the new Sportage houses a 2.5-litre four-cylinder creating power of 187 horses (138 kilowatts) and 178 pound-feet (242 Newton-meters) of torque. Besides this petrol powertrain, Kia will also offer a couple of other options.

The first will be the Sportage Hybrid that encompasses a turbocharged 1.6-litre and a 44-kilowatt electric motor to collectively create 226 hp (166 kW).

The second is the Sportage Plug-in Electric Vehicle (PHEV), which would give buyers two choices i.e. the X-Line and the X-Line Prestige. Unfortunately, we do not have pricing information regarding the Hybrid and the PHEV models. However, we can tell that both hybrid models will be accessible later this year. The pricing details will be on hand before the sale starts.

For the North American market, Kia has already started the development. It is accessible at the dealerships as we speak boasting a bold appearance, an advanced, tech-armed interior, and excellent safety features at an affordable price tag.

Here in the UAE, the 2021 Sportage is available in three trim levels starting with the LX Standard costing AED 72,900. The top-of-the-line GTL goes for AED 107,000
