Acura has filed the ADX name with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and may use it for its forthcoming electric SUV. Indeed, the company can also use this name for an ICE-powered SUV, probably based on the new-generation HR-V that Honda plans to produce for the North American market. Similarly, the company may want to save this name for any future product.
If you ask us, we say that Acura may use the ADX moniker for its upcoming electric utility vehicle that will be produced by General Motors. That means the zero-emission Acura will use features and tech from GM but still have its unique exterior and interior we expect from Honda’s luxury brand.
Acura has yet to confirm the name of its GM-produced electric SUV, but the parent company did confirm the ‘Prologue’ name for one of its models. We hope to find the name of the upcoming electric SUV from Acura in the near future.
Whatever would be the case, we believe the ADX nameplate will serve as a utility vehicle in Acura’s lineup.
