Smart, a Daimler and Geely JV, has teased a big all-electric crossover concept that they plan to introduce by the end of this year. Smart has been producing compact vehicles, but like most automakers, they decided to shift their focus towards crossovers and SUVs due to the rising customer demands.

The teaser image was revealed by Mercedes design chief Gorden Wagener, showing a top-down view of the big all-electric crossover concept. It will be bigger than the Mini Countryman.

We couldn’t find anything on the powertrain but we do know that the upcoming all-electric Smart SUV will use Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA). This 800-volt platform can uphold up to three electric motors and deliver up to 430 miles (692 kilometers) of range on the NEDC test cycle.

Smart might unveil this concept in September at the Munich Motor Show. The production model might be on sale in 2022 in China and Europe.
