Koenigsegg has started the production of the Jesko hypercar, which is theoretically capable to hit 330 mph (531 km/h). The automaker has already publicized it as their fastest production car ever with the Absolut being the quickest of all.
The Swedish company introduced it about two and half years ago with plans to develop 125 Jesko hypercars. Interestingly, all of them were sold out before the car’s debut at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show.
Koenigsegg has just showcased some remarkable images of the pre-production Jesko sporting Tang Orange Pearl paint with silver and carbon fiber accents. It is the standard Jesko model with the orange theme in the interior as well.
The 2022 Koenigsegg Jesko will reach its customer’s doorsteps from spring next year costing them at least $2.85 million without options. Those who have ticked all options had to dish out over $4 million. This price makes it one of the priciest vehicles ever produced.
The Jesko carries a twin-turbo 5.0-liter V8 good for 1,280 horsepower and 1,000 Newton-meters (738 pound-feet) of torque or 1,600 hp and 1,500 Nm (1,106 lb-ft) on E85 fuel.
The engineers have created a remarkable gearbox for the hypercar, known as “Koenigsegg Light Speed Transmission (LST).”
No doubt, the Koenigsegg Jesko has the capabilities to become the fastest production car in the world. Its two viable competitors in this field are the Hennessey Venom F5 and the SSC Tuatara, which is the fastest car in the world right now.
