Aston Martin has released official images of the Valkyrie AMR Pro hypercar after leaked photos of this track-only beast. It was first exhibited at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show in concept form. However, the official pictures show its production version.
What makes it different from the concept is the absence of the hybrid system to make it lightweight. That makes the production version less powerful than the concept that came with 1,100+ combined horsepower. The Valkyrie AMR Pro churns out 1,000 hp using a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12. This powerful mill is developed by Cosworth and it can rev up to 11,000 rpm.
To shed its weight, even more, the automaker has used a full carbon fiber body and even carbon suspension wishbones. Furthermore, the Perspex windscreen and side windows aid in shaving off more weight for better track performance. Analyzing it with the road-going Valkyrie, it delivers double the downforce.
Aston Martin has also made it 266 millimeters (10.5 inches) longer than the street-legal Valkyrie, making it 380 mm (15 inches) lengthier, on the whole. Moreover, the front and rear tracks are wider.
The automaker will share more details about the Valkyrie AMR Pro in the coming days. The company aims to lap the Le Mans circuit in 3 minutes and 20 seconds. That would make it as quick as LMP1 race cars.
Aston Martin will create only 40 units of the AMR Pro with deliveries starting in the fourth quarter of this year.
