Honda unveiled the 2022 Civic Sedan a couple of months back and now the hatchback model is ready for the limelight. The 2022 Civic Hatchback will appear at the Civic Tour “Remix” virtual concert today. The Livestream will start at 9 PM ET / 6 PM PT.

The five-door model will be developed at the Honda factory in Indiana. It is the first time the company is building this model in the USA because they have closed its operations at the Swindon factory in the UK.

Honda says the Civic hatchback will sport “European-inspired exterior styling” mixed with “enhanced five-door versatility” and “fun-to-drive six-speed manual transmission.”

As is the case with most sedan derivatives, the only tweaks will be visible at the rear pillar. It will reportedly have a rear wiper, as we mostly find in the latest hatchbacks. The interior facilities should be entirely similar to the sedan. It will be a little bigger than before because the new Civic sedan now has an extended wheelbase.

We are not sure if the hatchback will carry more power under its skin than the sedan sibling does. The drivers do like hatchbacks that are more robust. Nevertheless, the engine options will be the same i.e. a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre good for 158 horsepower and 138 pound-feet and a turbocharged 1.5-litre creating 180 hp and 177 lb-ft. It will be accessible in both manual and CVT gearboxes.

The 2022 Civic Hatchback will hit the roads in the U.S.A and the UAE before the end of this year. The pricing will be nearly equal to the sedan, costing at least $21,700 for the entry-level LX model with the base engine and goes up to $28,300 for the Touring with the turbo powerplant.
