Acura has disclosed pricing details of the 2021 TLX Type S variant, starting at a hefty $53,325. It is $13,000 extra than the TLX featuring a four-banger and all-wheel drive.

The 2021 Acura TLX Type S boasts a turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 generating 355 horsepower, mating to a 10-speed automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive. The standard all-season tires can be replaced with a pair of Pirelli P Zero summer tires and lightweight five-spoke 20-inch wheels by paying an extra $800.

The optional facilities on the entry-level TLX are standard on the Type S. It comes equipped with navigation, a premium audio system, cooled front seats, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.

The automaker believes the 2021 TLX Type S competes closely with the Audi S4 and BMW M340i. It is less expensive than the S4, priced at $50,945, and costlier than the M340i, costing $55,695 with rear-wheel drive or $57,695 with AWD.

In terms of power generation, it sits between the two as well, since Audi’s turbo V-6 creates 349 hp and the BMW’s turbo inline-six yields 382 hp.

The 2021 TLX Type S will hit the showrooms on June 23. The company likes to develop 2,000 examples for the 2021 MY. The 2022 model should be accessible more widely.
