The 2021 Bronco will deliver more horsepower and torque than what Ford initially evaluated. The company has released a new spec sheet for the SUV, stating that the SAE-certified horsepower and torque figures are up by 20–30 horsepower and 5–15 pound-feet, according to the powerplant.
Ford first assessed the turbocharged 2.3-liter inline-four at 270 hp and 310 pound-feet. However, the official figures now stand at 300 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. The available twin-turbo 2.7-liter V-6 first rated at 310 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque, now offers 330 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque.
The four-cylinder engine can pair with either a seven-speed manual or a 10-speed automatic transmission. The more powerful V-6 engine can only mate with the automatic transmission.
Of note, the power figures are valid for only premium fuel. Drivers using 87 octane regular fuel in 2021 Bronco will experience less power. The official estimates stand at 275 hp and 315 pound-feet for the 2.3L and 315 hp and 410 pound-feet for the 2.7L.
