Hyundai has revealed key information about its first pickup truck, the 2022 Santa Cruz. It will give customers a choice of four variants, two engines, and six exterior colors. While the pricing details aren’t out yet, we know what each of the SE, SEL, SEL Premium and Limited will feature when they come out of the factory. Use Hyundai’s configurator to find more.
The first two variants, the SE and SEL, will boast a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter inline-four engine creating 190-plus horsepower, with a towing capacity of 3500 pounds. Both will be front-wheel-drive models (all-wheel-drive will be optional). The engine mates to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
While the SE comes standard with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, customers will get more with the SE. Expect the proximity-key entry, heated front seats, a power driver’s seat, and blind-spot monitoring.
On top of the range, the SEL Premium and Limited come equipped with a turbocharged 2.5-liter inline-four good for 275-plus horsepower and a tow rating of up to 5000 pounds. An eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission can either pair with a front-wheel-drive or all-wheel drive (optional).
The standard for the SEL Premium are LED headlights and automatic climate control, while the Limited comes with a superior audio system, a 10.3-inch infotainment screen, and cooled front seats.
The 2022 Santa Cruz will come in Ice White, Phantom Black, Hampton Grey, Sage Gray, Blue Stone, and Desert Sand shades. Customers can reserve it here by paying $100. The pricing and EPA fuel-economy ratings will be revealed soon.
