Alongside the Highlander-based Crown Kluger, Toyota also introduced the Crown Vellfire at Auto Shanghai 2021. It is a minivan that is a rebadged version of the Alphard, which Toyota produces with GAC. The Toyota Crown Vellfire, on the other hand, is a joint venture with FAW.
Surprisingly, Toyota didn’t distribute a press release to give details about the Crown Vellfire, so it was hard for us to find the images. What we got through Motor1 were very low-quality images, sorry.
For the price, we consulted with the Chinese site and found it will retail around $141,700. While the price seems very steep, we should remember that the similar but more posh Lexus LM sports around the $215,000 price tag in China.
The Toyota Crown Vellfire has a hybrid powertrain consisting of a 2.5-liter gasoline engine generating 163 horsepower. The power goes to the wheels via a continuously variable transmission (CVT).
The three-row minivan is open for pre-orders in China. Toyota seems to use Crown name for the fully loaded, most luxurious variant of a model.
