Cadillac has revealed the pictures of the production-ready Lyriq, and boy, it looks gorgeous. Surprisingly, it is a ditto copy of the Lyriq concept we saw last year. It means the sharp angles, thin headlights, and the distinct LED-lined grille are all the same as found in the concept. It even has the same interior details. However, there are a few changes; for example, big wheels and side-mounted cameras are now gone for the 20- or 22-inch wheels and conventional side mirrors.
Those looking to buy the new Lyriq can have it in either Satin Steel Metallic or Stellar Black Metallic at the start. The interior has two color options, i.e. Sky Cool Gray and Noir. Other interior facilities include a big 33.0-inch LED display, active noise cancellation, and a 19-speaker audio system with headrest-mounted speakers.
The new Lyriq is built on GM’s new modular electric platform and uses the Ultium long-range batteries. With the 100-kilowatt-hour battery, the luxury vehicle can generate 340 horsepower (254 kilowatts) and 325 pound-feet (440 newton-meters). The EPA-estimated range is around 300 miles (483 kilometers). At the start, it will be accessible with rear-wheel-drive only. The AWD will come later.
Interestingly, Cadillac says that at public DC fast-charging stations offering 190 kilowatts charging capability, the vehicle can add 76 miles of range in only 10 minutes.
The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq will hit the assembly lines next year. Interested buyers can book it later this year. The starting price will be $59,990 without options.
