Audi Q4 E-Tron And Q4 Sportback E-Tron Break Cover

After introducing the E-Tron crossover in 2018, Audi gave us two more highly sophisticated models in the shape of E-Tron Sportback and E-Tron GT sedan. Now it is time to add two more all-electric models in the E-Tron family. Enter Audi Q4 E-Tron and Q4 Sportback E-Tron that come to compete with the Ford Mustang Mach-E, Tesla Model Y and Audi’s cousin, VW ID.4.

For the European markets, Audi is offering these new E-trons in three trim levels. There are two battery packs and a choice of both rear- and all-wheel-drive layouts. Both the E-trons will first be available in Germany this summer at a starting price of €41,900. The prices for the U.S. and the UAE are still unclear.

Trim Levels, Battery and Range

The 2022 Audi Q4 E-Tron will be available in three flavors, two battery choices and two motor configurations. The entry-level Q4 35 will feature the smallest 52-kilowatt-hour battery pack sending power to a single electric motor mounted at the rear axle. The powertrain will generate 168 horsepower (125 kilowatts) and 229 pound-feet (310 newton-meters).

This model will only be accessible in rear-wheel-drive, and Audi estimates the 0 to 60 miles per hour time of 9.0 seconds and a range of 212 miles (341 kilometers) on the European WLTP cycle. The Sportback model will deliver 217 miles (349 km).

The mid-level Q4 40 E-Tron will wield a bigger 77.0-kWh battery pack sending power to a single electric motor on the rear axle. It will be a little more powerful than the base model creating 201 hp (150 kW) and 229 lb-ft. The power goes to the rear wheels enabling the car to hit 60 miles per hour in 8.5 seconds. Gladly, this variant will offer the best range in the lineup i.e. 323 miles (520 km) on the WLTP cycle. If it is something you have heard before, it is because the VW ID.4 also delivers pretty much the same range.

Sitting on the top of the lineup is the 2022 Audi Q4 50 E-Tron boasting the same battery as available for the mid-range Q4 40. However, this variant has a two-motor setup: one on the front and the other on the rear axle. Thanks to these motors, the Q4 50 generates 295 hp (220 kW) and 339 lb-ft (460 nm), and completes the 60 mph run in only 6.2 seconds.

The drive range stands at 303 miles (488 km) on the WLTP cycle for E-tron and 309 miles (497 km) for the Sportback. Moreover, Audi says the base 35 and mid-level 40 models can tow in excess of 2,200 pounds (1,000 kilograms), whereas the top-of-the-line 50 variant can pull 2,654 pounds (1,203 kg).
