We all now know that the resurrected Hummer will hit the roads as a 1,000 horsepower Edition 1 electric pickup truck this year. The truck will also accompany its little sibling GMC Hummer EV SUV featuring removable roof panels and seating for five.

However, the SUV will not be accessible to customers until 2023. At the start, customers can only have the $105,959 Edition 1 model. The affordable models will hit the dealerships in 2024.

Regarding the design of the GMC Hummer EV SUV, it is similar to its big brother. However, it is shorter of the two with a spare tire fixed on the rear liftgate akin to a Jeep Wrangler and the Ford Bronco. We also have seen it in the Hummer H2.

The GMC Hummer SUV Edition 1 sports 22-inch wheels and contains side steps and floor liners. All the new Hummers will feature GM’s Super Cruise hands-free driving technology.

Just like the Hummer EV pickup truck, the SUV will have the same model lineup and prices. The Edition 1 will be the first to go on sale with approximately 300 miles of range, which is 50 miles lower than the EV pickup. It will also be less powerful yielding 830 horsepower with a three-motor setup. The automaker says it will complete the zero-to-60-mph run in about 3.5 seconds.

Comparing the horsepower figure with the pickup truck, we can clearly see the Edition 1 SUV has 170 fewer ponies to pull. The reason is a smaller battery pack because of the SUV’s shorter wheelbase of 8.9 inches. While the automaker didn’t give details of the batteries so far, we know they will support 800-volt DC fast charging.

We can expect the $89,995 Hummer EV2X and $99,995 Hummer EV3X in the spring of 2023. The EV2X will generate 625 horsepower whereas the EV3X will offer the same power output as Edition 1. GMC says both will deliver up to 300 miles of range.

Do not expect the most affordable $79,995 Hummer EV2 until spring 2024. It will arrive together with the low-priced pickup variant. The entry-level EV SUV will offer a roughly 250 miles range and generate 625 horsepower. The 800-volt fast charging support and a more powerful battery pack offering 300 miles of range will be optional.

Besides, GMC will offer an intense off-road package for every Hummer EV SUV model excluding the entry-level variant. Opting this will adorn the electric utility vehicle with 18-inch wheels covered in 35-inch mud-terrain tires, skid plates, rock sliders, a front electronically locking differential, rear motors that can electronically imitate a locked diff, heavy-duty half-shafts, and underbody cameras.

While the automaker did not tell how much it will cost, but, for the EV SUV Edition 1, it values $5000. Customers can also opt for CrabWalk, which employs four-wheel steering to line up all the wheels at the matching angle.

You can now book your GMC Hummer EV SUV online, however, do not expect deliveries until 2023 as the production will start in two years.
