Drivers here have to bear the burden of another fuel price hike next month as UAE has increased the prices by 8 percent. The increase in UAE fuel prices for April 2021 is according to the hike in international markets.

The UAE Fuel Price Follow-up Committee has set Super 98 petrol at Dh2.29 from Dh2.12 per liter in March, which is a bump of 8.01 percent.

Special 95 petrol will sell at Dh2.17 from Dh2.01 per liter last month, reflecting a rise of 7.96 percent.

E-Plus fuel price is also going to escalate a great deal, as motorists have to pay Dh2.10 in April, reflecting an increase of 38 fils. Diesel will witness the least hike selling at Dh2.22 instead of Dh2.15, signaling a surge of 3.25 percent.

After keeping the fuel prices unchanged for eleven successive months (until Feb), the price committee increased petrol and diesel cost for March 2021. The prices are surging around the world due to increased economic activity.

Benchmark US crude oil for May delivery increased $2.41 to $60.97 a barrel on Friday while Brent crude oil for May delivery jumped $2.62 to $64.57 a barrel.

A part of the reason to escalate the UAE fuel prices for April 2021 is blockage at Suez Canal.
