The American automaker has finally unveiled the 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor featuring most of the design cues we had seen in the previous model. Unfortunately, the online debut didn’t reveal the power figures. To stay in the performance pickup truck game, Ford has to do better or at least come close to the 700+ hp Ram TRX. Anything closer to the last Raptor’s 450 hp can never be a good match for the TRX.
However, Ford has confirmed a more powerful Raptor R model later on, which should be a good match for the TRX. The exact displacement of the V8 is still a mystery. Our good guess is the GT500’s supercharged 5.2-liter V8.
For the third-generation Raptor, the automaker is offering four exclusive exhaust modes – Quiet, Normal, Sport, and Baja. Moreover, there are seven drive modes that of course will enable the Raptor to change its transmission/throttle response, damper firmness, and so on.
For the 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor, the automaker has restructured the rear suspension and added new Fox shocks and big 24-inch coil springs at all four corners. The 35-inch tires are made by BFGoodrich KO2.
With no horsepower or torque figures available right now, Ford, of course, cannot tell the price of the new Raptor. However, it would definitely be a little higher than the 2020 Raptor SuperCrew’s starting price of $56,440. The truck will hit the dealerships this summer.
