Ford has already started delivering the Mustang Mach-E to customers in the United States. The company needs to complete 50,000 units annually, but so far they only managed less than 10K units. To ramp up the production, the company has decided to take help of Changan in China.
The automaker is working on “Best of Ford, Best of China” policy to “offer Chinese customers industry-leading smart vehicles and advanced technologies.” Changan Ford will produce the Mustang Mach-E exclusively for Chinese customers.
Chinese will only get their hands on the GT trim for now, which will be pretty much like the ones available in North America and Europe. However, the design will be a little different. The company did not reveal the starting date of production nor mentioned anything about deliveries. However, we are expecting the deliveries to initiate this summer.
Just to refresh your memory, Ford’s first electric crossover has a potent powertrain offering 480 horsepower (358 kilowatts) and 634 pound-feet (860 Newton-meters) of torque. Hit the pedal and it takes you to 96 kilometers per hour in only 3.7 seconds. The driving range stands at 250 miles (378 km).
