Tesla has introduced the redesigned versions of Model S and Model X, by showing us some images of the updated models. The production will start in the first quarter with deliveries expected in spring.
Seeing the exterior image of the Model S, we find more assertive haunches and a smoother hood. The biggest change we see is in the interior, which is more modern now. With the old dash cluster, the electric sedan now has the yoke-style steering wheel giving us a kind of ’80s nostalgia suggestive of the famous car from Knight Rider. The Model X receives pretty much the same update.
Another salient upgrade in the redesigned Model S and Model X is a small screen in the center console for passengers at the back. That should let them enjoy movies and games. Other changes we are expecting is the revised powertrain, battery pack, battery module, and drive units.
The 2021 Tesla Model S Long Range should hit the road in March offering 412 miles of range. The Model S Plaid, aiming for a 390-mile range with 1020 horsepower, will be available from next month, as CEO Elon Musk tweeted.
The range-topping 1100-hp Plaid+ pushing a 520-mile range, a zero-to-60-mph time of fewer than two seconds, and a tri-motor powertrain should come in the last quarter of this year. The updated Model X will be available from April.
