Comparing the $50,900 California Route 1 with the $51,190 Tesla Model Y Long Range, the latter offers 21 more miles.

Going further into the discussion, the Tesla Model Y Long Range comes equipped with an all-wheel-drive; however, the automaker has now made available the RWD Standard Range Model Y with an EPA-estimated 244 miles of range.

On the other hand, the Mustang Mach-E California Route 1 boasts a rear-wheel drive with an optional all-wheel-drive with less range owing to the secondary drive unit. The California Route 1 housing an 88.0-kWh battery pack powers a permanent-magnet synchronous electric motor on the rear axle to generate 290 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. The estimated 0 to 60 mph time is 6.1 seconds.

The automaker also told us that the Mustang Mach-E California Route 1 weighs less than the rear-wheel-drive Extended Range delivering a 300-mile EPA-estimated range.

The 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E Select RWD costs $43,995 and offers an EPA-estimated 230 miles of range. The 305-mile 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E California Route 1 wears a price tag of $50,900.
