Bentley has plans to electrify its whole lineup in the next two years and introduce an all-electric model in 2025. And because Bentayga crossover has such a significant role in the automaker’s range, they have to give the Bentley Bentayga Hybrid a facelift for 2021.
The 2021 Bentley Bentayga PHEV houses a 3.0-liter gasoline mill assisted by an electric motor to create 443 horsepower (330 kilowatts) and 516 pound-feet (700 Newton-meters) of torque. The plug-in hybrid powertrain offers 31 miles of all-electric range based on Europe’s NEDC cycle. The combined range stands at 536 miles.
The company is offering a new 17.3-kWh lithium battery comprising 168 separate cells with a probable life of 100,000 miles (160,000 kilometers) or eight years. The battery takes two and a half hours for a recharge.
One of the best things about this PHEV is the Bentley Hybrid Efficiency Navigation system aiding drivers to get better efficiency through response from the throttle pedal.
Apart from the updated powertrain, the 2021 Bentley Bentayga Hybrid gets standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also has a completely digital instrument cluster, which is a carryover from the updated Bentayga from last year. The new 10.9-inch infotainment screen is also more responsive and advanced.
The pricing details aren’t revealed yet.
