Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) with the help of Sharjah’s Roads and Transport Authority has opened two intercity bus routes to cut the distance between Dubai and Sharjah to 12 minutes only. The routes became operational last Sunday. By following these two intercity bus routes, the commuter will not have to face Dubai-Sharjah traffic.

Adel Mohammed Shakeri, Director of Planning and Business Development, Public Transport Agency, RTA said, “This is a different experience, as previously people experienced mixed traffic. This is going to save time. It will take only 12 minutes to commute between the two emirates without traffic.”

The first route E306 will start the ride from Al Ghubaiba Bus Depot, Dubai, and terminate at Al Jubail Bus Station in Sharjah via Al Mamzar, at an occurrence of 20 minutes. RTA will use six double-decker buses on this route.

The second route E307 will also employ six double-decker buses initiating their journey from Deira City Centre Bus Station, Dubai, and ending at Al Jubail Bus Station, Sharjah, through Al Ittihad Road. Here too, the service frequency will be 20 minutes with the ability to accommodate 1,500 travelers in a day.

The RTA has also redirected two other intercity bus routes – the E307A and E400. These will now run through Al Mamzar, rather than Al Ittihad Road.
