As a New Year gift, the Ras Al Khaimah Police department has announced to extend the 50% traffic fine discount until January 3, 2021. The decision is made at the request of the motorists.
The 50% traffic fine discount scheme was first initiated during the UAE 49th National Day. It was available for seven days from December 2-8, but then stretched to December 23.
RAK Police has asked motorists to pay their fines before the deadline to take advantage of this scheme.
“The move is aimed to bring happiness to the public and reduce their financial burdens.”
Along with the 50% rebate, the motorist will also see their black points annulled and vehicle impoundment fee waived.
“The [discount] drive is a good opportunity for all booked drivers, particularly those with big fines to clear their records at a lower cost.”
The reduction is accessible on all charges imposed by speed radars and due to vehicle seizures. Car owners can pay their fine through the MOI smartphone app. However, to take care of the infringements regarding car impoundment, they have to pop in the Traffic and Licensing Services Center and the Vehicle Impoundment Complex in Al Saadi area.
“All drivers are urged to observe traffic rules and regulations for road users’ safety and theirs,” says Ras Al Khaimah Police.
The 50% traffic fine discount scheme was announced by the Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, and Fujairah police, as well.
