Jeep has publicized its plans to unveil a “new vehicle” on November 17, 2020. While they did not mention the name of the vehicle, we strongly believe it is the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
The off-road brand said in February that they will introduce the new Grand Cherokee before the end of this year. Initially, the plan was to unveil it at the Detroit Auto Show but the show got abandoned.
Reportedly, the new Grand Cherokee will still be using the Giorgio platform, which also underpins the Alfa Romeo Stelvio. However, the Cherokee will be bigger than the Stelvio as well as larger than the outgoing model. It will be accessible in five- and seven-seat layouts.
We expect the 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee will come equipped with an electrified 2.0L four-cylinder mill. The other engine option will be the signature Pentastar V6. We also expect a plug-in Cherokee made available afterward.
We are still not sure if the new vehicle from Jeep will be Grand Cherokee or not. Stay tuned and we will share the details with you soon. For reference to price and specs, the 2020 Grand Cherokee starts at AED 160,000.
