The 2022 Ford E-Transit comes as an electric alternative to typical commercial vans. The Blue Oval will start producing it in the mid of next year with deliveries commencing before the end of 2021.

The 2022 Ford E-Transit is capable of producing 266 horsepower (198 kilowatts) and 317 pound-feet (430 Newton-meters) of torque. It has 67 kilowatt-hours of battery-pack offering 126 miles (203 kilometers) of drive range for the low-roof cargo van model.

Owners can charge it on both AC and DC. A 115-plus-kilowatt DC fast charger can add 45 miles of range in only 15 minutes.

There will be three roof heights, three lengths, a chassis cab, and a Cutaway layout for the E-Transit with a maximum payload capacity of 3,800 pounds (1,724 kilograms) or up to 4,290 pounds (1,946 kilograms) for the Cutaway.

Other sought-after features include an optional Pro Power Onboard mobile generator that could deliver 2.4 kilowatts of power for recharging and a 12-inch infotainment display with Ford’s Sync 4 software.

All versions of the electric van will get the Ford Co-Pilot360 safety tech suite encompassing lane-keep assist and pre-collision assist with automatic emergency braking. The blind spot information system, 360-degree camera, and reverse brake assist are optional.

The pricing details are not confirmed yet, but we expect it to be around the $45,000 mark. The gasoline-powered Transit starts at around AED 126,000 here.
