The 2021 Audi SQ5 TDI debuts for the European markets with an updated design. The automaker has tweaked front fascia with sharper headlights and thinner trim around the grille. At the rear, it has a couple of circular exhaust pipes on both sides and available OLED taillights.
Surprisingly, Audi has downgraded the engine power. The old 3.0L V6 turbo diesel now generates 337 horsepower (251 kilowatts), instead of 342 hp (255 kW). The torque output remains the same at 700 Newton-meters. The engine mates to an eight-speed automatic and permanent all-wheel drive with a 40:60 front-rear torque split in typical conditions.
The 2021 Audi SQ5 TDI still has a 48-volt mild-hybrid system as well as an electric-powered compressor (EPC).
Although it is less powerful than the outgoing model, it can still hit 100 kilometers per hour in 5.1 seconds. The top speed did not budge; it is still rated at 155 mph (250 kph).
The interior is accessible in Black or Dark Gray with leather/synthetic leather and leather/Dinamica microfiber upholstery options.
The infotainment display has grown in size and now measures 10.1 inches, instead of 8.3 inches earlier.
The 2021 Audi SQ5 TDI will be available in Europe from the first quarter of 2021 with prices starting at €68,137.82 after Germany’s 16 percent value-added tax. The 2020 SQ5 TFSI starts at AED 271,635 here.
