No doubt, the Bugatti Chiron is the automaker’s most powerful and most attractive offering to-date. While Bugatti introduced many variants of the Chiron since its introduction in Feb 2016, none of them has been as diehard as the track-only Bugatti Bolide.

The French automaker recently unveiled the Bugatti Bolide with mind-boggling specifications and exceptional design.

What makes the Bolide so powerful is again the famous 8.0L W16 pumping out a monstrous 1,578 horsepower (1,177 kilowatts) as was available with the Centodieci and Super Sport 300+.

However, the engineers tweaked the mill to accept 110-octane racing fuel to unleash its true power and installed new quad turbochargers. The hypercar can generate up to 1,825 hp (1,361 kW) at 7,000 rpm and 1,850 Newton-meters (1,365 pound-feet) of torque from 2,000 rpm.

The designers and engineers worked together to save a lot of weight and reduced the Bolide to just 1,240 kilograms (2,734 pounds), giving it a remarkable weight-to-power ratio of 0.67 kg/hp. Do not get us wrong; it is the dry weight of the hypercar. As you add the fluids, this ratio will be different.

Now the juicy numbers of the Bolide. Imagine a car just weighing 1,240 kilograms with 1,825 hp on tap. It should be an absolute stunner, right? And it is! The 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) time is just 2.17 seconds while 0-124 mph (0-200 km/h) takes 4.36 seconds. Keep flooring the pedal and the hypercar achieves 0-186 mph (0-300 km/h) in 7.37 seconds and 0-249 mph (0-400 km/h) in 12.08 seconds. These are stimulation performance figures, meaning the company did not perform the acceleration test yet.

Surprisingly, the automaker even gave an imaginary 0 to 311 mph (500 km/h) time of 20.16 seconds. They also said the Bugatti Bolide could lap the Nürburgring in 5 minutes and 23.1 seconds. What will be its top speed? Well, they say it is over 311 mph (500 km/h). The engineers also provided a Le Mans lap time of 3 minutes and 7.1 seconds.

Looking at the styling of the Bugatti Bolide, we can say unanimously it is outright futuristic. The morphable outer skin is something you might not have heard of previously. It is present on the roof scoop to increase the airflow.

Seeing the official images of the Bugatti Bolide, you might not be able to see how low this ride is. It is just 995 millimeters (39.1 inches) tall, which makes it around 300 mm (11.8 inches) lower than the standard Chiron to correspond to the height of the timeless Bugatti Type 35. The X-shaped headlamps and taillights exude a Sci-Fi movie car look.

Bugatti team took more than eight months to design and develop the Bolide. Strangely, the automaker did not put a price tag on it yet. Actually, they are still thinking about whether they should put it into production or not.
