Ford Europe is going to extend the EcoSport lineup by introducing an outdoorsy EcoSport Active variant. While the official debut was supposed to happen on November 6, guys at Autonoción got their hands on the leaked pictures.

The slightly rugged small crossover sports plastic cladding around the wheel arches as well as on the front and rear faux skids. It has also got tinted windows and a new alloy wheel design. As we can see in the photos, the crossover has a two-tone appearance with a contrasting black finish on the roof and the side mirror caps.

Autonoción also mentioned that the EcoSport Active will be available in Spain featuring a 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine only, generating 125-horsepower. The engine mates to a six-speed manual transmission that sends power to only the front wheels.

The crossover will come equipped with automatic headlights, cruise control, traffic sign recognition, and automatic climate control. The optional features will include push-button start, leather/suede upholstery, and an eight-inch infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration.

We do not know whether the EcoSport Active will arrive in the UAE or not. For now, the EcoSport is available here in three variants: Ambiente, Trend, and Titanium.
