The new 2021 Subaru Forester crossover will now be available with a 1.8L turbocharged four-cylinder boxer engine. However, this mill will only be accessible in Japan.
The 1.8L Turbo creates 174 horsepower (130 kilowatts) and 221 pound-feet (300 Newton-meters) of torque. This engine will be available in the 2021 Subaru Forester Sport with CVT and all-wheel-drive. The engineers have made certain changes to improve power output. In Japan, the Forest Sport costs 3,289,000 yen ($31,400.22 at present exchange price).
We do not know yet whether this 1.8L turbo engine will be an option for the UAE and US buyers or not. However, if it does, it will increase Forester’s already good sales.
The latest-generation Forester hit the roads last year in the US featuring a 2.5L boxer four-cylinder yielding 182 horsepower (136 kilowatts) and 176 pound-feet (239 Newton-meters) of torque.
It proved very successful in the U.S. as Subaru has witnessed a 2.0% year-over-year sales surge. Considering the current COVID-19 situation, it is a very healthy increase.
