Renault has introduced Megane eVision concept that hints at its future design language. The five-door hatchback is built on the Renault’s new modular CMF-EV platform. The electric vehicle should hit the assembly lines next year.
Seeing the car from the front, we find a strip of LEDs running across its nose, and two scooped out parts of the hood. The flush-mounted door handles look futuristic while the gold color gradient at the lower part of the A-pillars and the roof make it distinguishable in the crowd. At the rear, the lights run full width.
The Renault Megane eVision comes equipped with a 60-kilowatt-hour battery that powers the electric motor to create 215 horsepower (160 kilowatts) and 221 pound-feet (300 Newton-meters). The power goes to the front wheels.
Renault says it can zoom to 100 kilometers per hour in less than eight seconds. Surprisingly, the company did not provide the drive range instead they said the hatchback can cover the distance between London and Newcastle, which is around 280 miles (451 kilometers), “in the same amount of time as internal-combustion vehicles, stops included.”
